THE INAUGURAL WOMEN WHO START SHIT HIT IT OUT OF THE PARK!

I am truly a woman that starts s***. So much so that it took me 2 years to make this blog post honoring the fun night I had speaking at the monthly event.

And ,well, I am copying and pasting in below from Liz Elam’s wonderful wesbite: https://linkcoworking.com/category/women-who-start-shit/

January 2018:

Holy hell did you miss out if you skipped the first ever Women Who Start Shit. It was epic, inspiring, funny and real (REAL real). We were super excited to welcome DeLea Becker and Elizabeth Riley to the stage (read: couch… we are chill here). A concept that we had been thinking about for a while finally came to fruition last week and it was everything we could have hoped it to be.

The night kicked off with sushi, sips and networking. The room was buzzing and connections were being made all over the place. We started the curated conversation promptly at 6:30 with questions to the ladies about how they started and built their thriving businesses all while raising small humans and managing their husbands. Their answers were raw and inspiring with no BS in the mix. Elizabeth said it well when she said “I make it happen, it’s not always pretty but it happens”. Our favorite quote from DeLea was “There is no lazy.” It was also interesting that both women were pushed in real estate by their husbands.

An hour flew by and before we knew it we were out of time. The ladies turned to the audience for questions and out came “What are your resolutions for the year”? Delea disclosed that while she doesn’t have “a resolution per say” she was striving to stop procrastinating her accounting and to spend 10 minutes a day meditating to reset her mind. Offering that meditating can be anything you need it to be from prayer to sitting and doing nothing.

Elizabeth, being the award winning powerhouse that she is (who had earlier on in the night let us in on her success in 2017) spoke about choosing the word “intentional” to be her mantra for 2018. She plans to be intentional in not only her business but with her relationships, friendships, words and actions.

We’ll do it again in February on the 7th with a focus on Coworking. We’ll be Welcoming Laura Shook from Somavida and Women Who Cowork and Shelley Deleyne from Orange Coworking. Make sure you reserve sport, space is limited!
