I'm absolutely thrilled to share that I've been selected as the recipient of the Economic and Community Improvement 2023 Award by CREW Austin. This award holds a special place in my heart as it recognizes the incredible journey I've had in East Austin over the past 23 years.
Having lived and worked in this vibrant community for over two decades, East Austin has become more than just a place to me—it's my favorite community, where I invest not only my time, my passion and my money. Throughout these years, Beck-Reit has had the privilege of owning 7 commercial properties, revitalizing 5 historic buildings and developing 1 "Net-Zero Neighborhood" - SOL Austin -through Beck-Reit Commercial Real Estate, LLC & Beck-Reit and Sons, Ltd.
And we aren't done yet!
Currently, I'm deeply engaged in an exciting project—a 48,000 SF Office/Retail Building ground-up building on East 7th. Additionally, I have an offer on the table for 2 retail properties just a few blocks away. Further contributing to the evolving landscape of East Austin.
While I humbly acknowledge that many remarkable individuals have played a pivotal role in shaping East Austin, I am incredibly proud of the impact I've been able to make. The journey was started with residents, developers, and activists long before Beck-Reit joined their mission.
Our commitment to East Austin is unwavering. Since 2006, Beck-Reit's offices have stood as a testament to our dedication to this community. We love hosting a bi-weekly coffee gathering at the East Austin Hotel. I like to bring people together to support our local businesses and witness the dynamic changes happening on the East Side.
This year, Beck-Reit proudly sponsors the Bisnow "Austin Market Update" event in December. What's particularly exciting is that, for the first time, there will be an East Austin Panel featuring commercial real estate experts discussing "Embracing East Austin's Rapid Growth: The Lowdown on Major Projects in the Burgeoning Submarket". I'm honored to be moderating this insightful discussion.
